MBABANE – Make no mistake in missing out from this year’s MTN BUSHFIRE Festival because it’s sure going to be lit!

As Africa’s best world music festival, MTN BUSHFIRE has always had strong African roots, this year is no exception as it announced the triumphant return of Kwaito superstars TKZee.

The first batch of artists was confirmed by House on Fire’s Communications Officer Noncedo Dlamini. She also revealed that Congolese performer Baloji, the Taureg rebel Bombino and the Belgian / South African newcomer Petite Noir are also among the first batch of artists confirmed to grace the MTN BUSHFIRE 2017 main stage.

Tkzee is made up of three school friends who have all made a name for themselves individually, Zwai Bala, Kabelo Mabalane and Tokollo Tshabalala are back with all of their 90’s hits including Take it Eezy, Palafala, Shibobo, and more.
According to Dlamini, the group will be bringing along retro and groove sounds.

“The MTN BUSHFIRE Festival is all about bringing the world to one stage. This year is no exception as people will also get to know world artists,” added Dlamini.

Congolese performer Baloji, is a poet, composer, lyricist/beatmaker, scriptwriter, actor, and video artist. His genre busting music is elegantly poised at the crossroads of African music, rap music, American music (soul, funk, jazz) and even deep house that has its roots in part in the region of Belgium.

Taureg music and culture has captured the world’s attention in recent years, and one of its most successful sons is Bombino, who is also part of the line-up.
Joining in will be Petite Noir, a young South African of Belgian and Angolan descent.
