MBABANE – Theatre lovers have been starved of great theatrical plays that capture the soul from the very start until the stage curtain closes.

Well the wait is over as Sello Maake Ka-Ncube is bringing the intrigue of live stage play to Swaziland.
To celebrate the role that Swaziland played in the struggle against apartheid, the top South African actor will stage a play about iconic writer and activist, Can Themba, the South African who was one of the key founders of Drum Magazine.

As part of the editorial team at Drum Magazine, Themba was in constant confrontation with the apartheid regime and he fled to Swaziland where he became a teacher at Salesian High School.

Facilitating the play by Ncube is Macford Sibandze, as his events company GMAC has been given the task of producing the play in the country.
The play titled ‘House of Truths’ has been receiving high reviews in South Africa where it has had a good season at the Market Theatre. Its launch drew an audience including high profile dignitaries, academics, intellectuals and of course South Africa’s celebrities.  It is one play that has been drawing a full house every single day.

Sello Maake Ka-Ncube is well-known for his character as Archie Moroka between 1996 to 2009 on the SABC soapie Generations.
These days he is the talk of town with his gay character on new Mzansi Magic telenovela, ‘The Queen’.

He is expected to be in the country with his team this Saturday to meet Sibandze to prepare for the season in Swaziland. Sibandze has organised for Ncube to meet with Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Dlamini.
