MBABANE – There is still hope for Swaziland to be part of the Miss World Beauty Pageant and this can only happen if Vinah Mamba-Gray would be given a second chance.

The former Miss Swaziland Beauty Pageant director and former beauty queen herself, has stated that she is more than ready to take over the pageant once again if given the chance.
Vinah Mamba was stripped off the directorship by Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) after successfully handling it for over 10 years.

She made it clear that the only thing that would make her take  over the pageant would be because she feels pity for the  girls. As someone who worked with young aspiring beauty queens for a long time, Mamba said  normally  the girls take part in the Miss Swaziland Beauty Pageant with the hopes of participating in Miss World, and travelling the globe. This platform is one that opens a number of opportunities for them.

“The only thing that would make me to go back to the directorship seat of  the pageant is the fact that I feel so much heartfelt pain for all the girls who take part in the pageant. In the end they work hard to stand out and win the crown only to find that they are not able to make it to their final major destination, which is the Miss World Beauty Pageant stage,” she said. She said she knew the pain felt by the girls, especially when they get to realise that their dream has been shattered.

Winner

“I know the pain that the girls go through and it is one of the things that would make me take over the Miss Swaziland pageant. I must say I would make it a point that the winner attends the Miss World Beauty Pageant especially because I hold the licence,” she said.
