MATSAPHA – He just loves Swaziland and its people and it is the reason he always makes it a point that his first performance of each year is in the country.

This is none other than South Africa’s award-winning gospel artist Khaya Mthetwa, who left gospel music lovers wanting more during his performance at the University of Swaziland’s Sports Emporium Hall.
Khaya was in the country courtesy of Sword and Spirit Ministries, a church under the leadership of Apostle Bheki and Pastor Zandile Thwala. The church had hosted a week-long service, known as the Superman’s Fire Conference.

The conference is held annually; every first week of the year. Over the past three years, Khaya has been one of the guests during the conference.
The artist was expected to join the church members at the beginning of the conference, but due to other commitments, he arrived on Wednesday and was part of the conference on the night.

However, he did not perform as he was welcomed by the apostle. On Thursday, the artist performed a few songs which were a warm-up towards his main performance on Friday. On Friday, Khaya gave a one and a half hour performance, leaving gospel music lovers and his fans wanting more.  By the time the artist took to the stage, gospel fans were waiting for his performance as he had promise to sing some of his newly-composed songs.

Indeed, he did not disappoint as gospel music lovers got what they had come for, free of charge.
Some of Khaya’s fans stood up as soon as he went on stage and enjoyed the music until he finished performing. They seemed to enjoy the artist’s set as they sang along with him throughout his performance. Among the songs he sang included the famous ‘It is well’, ‘God at the Trone’, ‘Jesus’ and ‘How I Love Him’.
