LOBAMBA – The national flag has been raised high and the Swazi Government is impressed.

Minister of Sports Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala has praised His Majesty’s Correctional Services for excelling during the recently held Melting Pot Choral Music Festival.
The festival where the choir won the Western piece section, taking home a sum of E250 000 was held at the Carnival City in Johannesburg.

The choir’s conductor Melisizwe Zwane was also named as the day’s best conductor, taking home a sum of E20 000.
Yesterday, the Swaziland National Choral Music Association (SCMA) and the choristers presented the trophy they won in South Africa to the minister.

The presentation was held at the Lobamba Technical Centre.
Present were choristers and members of the SCMA.

Before the minister’s speech, Jozana Maziya, the association’s president, said that they were impressed with the choir’s commitment, and the fact that the choristers were able to prove that they are nothing but the best.
Maziya said he knew the choir would make it as the choristers mentioned that they were more than ready to lift the country’s flag high and they did exactly that.

“As an association, we are proud of the choir and we are looking forward to the upcoming Old Mutual Choral Music Festival, where they have also promised to be at their best,” he said.
