HMCS CHOIR FOR MTN BUSHFIRE MAIN STAGE

MATSAPHA - For the first time in the history of the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival, His Majesty’s Correctional Services Choir will be the opening act at the festival tomorrow.


This was confirmed during the choir’s achievement celebration that was held at the His Majesty’s Correctional Services College on Wednesday morning.
During the celebration, the choir was being praised for its good work in the past year.


The choir was also honoured for its achievements during the Melting Pot and Old Mutual Festivals as well as the Ntjilo Ntjilo Music Fest.
His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General Mzuthini Ntshangase, praised the choir for its good work saying he was happy that the choir had represented the institution well even outside the country.


He thanked the conductors and the choristers for being committed, saying their commitment had helped them in winning in competitions.
“As you can see, the fact that there are so many trophies in front of us shows that whenever we take part in a competition, we always make sure that we compete and win, nothing else. I am proud of what the choir has achieved,” he said.


He said he was expecting more from the choir and he hoped it choir would continue to win more trophies in competitions. 
He further hailed the choir for being the first choral act to grace the MTN BUSHFIRE stage.
This year the choir will be defending the Old Mutual Festival cup they won and the competition is scheduled for September at Esibayeni Lodge.
