MBABANE - Business is booming in Swaziland as private residential owners have turned their homes into ‘Bushfire home-rent-outs’ accommodation for making extra money during the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival.

There is a scramble for left over private residential accommodation as all hotels which are close to the festival arena are fully booked. In preparation for the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival, accommodation was made available since the end of last year’s festival, whereby the Bushfire team created a profile which includes some of the hotels which are close to where the festival will be held.

No more last minute scramble for hotel accommodation as most hotels close to the MTN BUSHFIRE venue seem to be fully booked already. Swazi private residential owners seem to have turned their own residential homes into bed and breakfast for all those who need accommodation for the weekend of the festival.

As the hype of the festival continues to build-up, Swazi citizens are advertising their private residential homes on Facebook which they will be renting out for the weekend for a certain fee. Surrounding hotels such as Happy Valley Hotel and Casino which offers affordable accommodation and that is 10 minutes away from the festival arena, have been fully booked for the past few weeks as guests started booking from as early as last year October.

The Royal Villas Hotel, which is a beautiful and secure estate and is 15 minutes away from the festival arena is also fully booked, as guests started booking early after the festival that took place in 2015.

The Royal Swazi Spa Hotel and Lugogo Sun Hotel stated that all their rooms are fully booked for the weekend as guests booked from as early as May 2015, which was straight after the previous MTN BUSHFIRE Festival.
