GAWUZELA, MZWAKHE IN CROSSOVER VENUE FACE-OFF
MBABANE – Umlilo Music, a company directed by Mduduzi Simelane of Izinceku Zamagawugawu is struggling to secure the Mavuso Trade Centre to host the popular gospel crossover show.
For the past four years, Umlilo has always been using the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre as their main venue.
However, up to now, the company has not been able to secure the venue as it has been told that another gospel artist, Mzwakhe Myeni, has shown interest in using the venue to host his own gospel crossover.
Information gathered is that ‘Gawuzela’ was informed that Myeni had shown interest of hosting the show at the centre.
This has resulted to Gawuzela not being able to secure the venue in time for his show.
The Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre is under the Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA).
It was gathered that Myeni has already engaged some of the local artists, whom he wants to use during his crossover.
Confirmed
Gawuzela confirmed that up to now he has not been able to secure the venue, saying the only reason was the fact that he was still waiting for SIPA to give him a green light.
“People have been calling me asking where this year’s crossover would be held. It is a fact that up to now I have not been able to secure the venue because I have been told that there is another artist who wants the same venue.
I should make it clear that I indicated on the first day of January that I have the interest of using the venue. I do not know what happened later,” he said.
He said he was surprised when he was informed that there was an artist who wanted to use the venue.
“For the past four years I have been using Mavuso as the show’s venue.
