MBABANE - In a bid to market and promote local talent, the Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA) has sealed a deal with Swazi TV, to give the T55 SWAMA National Talent Search contestants their performance videos.

This was announced by the association’s president Lutfo Dlamini yesterday during an interview with this publication.
Dlamini said the initiative was looking at empowering the contestants by giving them the DVDs, which will be edited by Swazi TV as they have been filming the auditions since the beginning of the talent search.

“The DVDs will work as a promotional tool for each and every contestant, as they will be able to show talent recruiters what they have done before. All interested contestants will have to pay a sum of E70 to get the DVDs and this money is basically for the branding and editing of them.”

He further urged the contestants to take the initiative serious as the DVD will be an effective marketing tool for them even after the talent search.
“They should take this initiative serious as this will help them after the end of the competition, having in mind that only one contestant will win the first prize of the talent search.”

Close to 200 contestants have already auditioned for the T55 SWAMA National Talent Search during the past six auditions held in the various regions of the kingdom and at least 60 of them have made it through to the next round of the competition, which will be the beginning of the elimination round.

The DVDs will be made for every contestant on request and after the payment of the charges.
