MBABANE – After last week’s government budget speech, ACASWA believe SNCAC’s Chief Executive Officer needs to be a magician to meet the needs of the industry.

These were the words of on leave ACASWA President Mhlonishwa Motsa, who was representing the association at Ngcebo Motsa’s gospel album media launch at Sibane Hotel on Wednesday night.

ACASWA is an acronym for Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland, while Stanley Dlamini is the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture’s CEO.

Motsa was the guest speaker at the event and he uttered the sentiments in relation to the allocated budget by government to the Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Ministry.

“It is unfortunate that when we have complained about the little budget for the arts sector, it has been reduced. It remains to be seen how the CEO will pull the strings under the circumstances.”

He however said he was looking forward to the meeting where the various associations will deliberate on the matter with the Council.
On another note, he welcomed the new artist, Ngcebo Motsa in the industry and he highlighted that he was lucky to have received the album earlier, which prompted him not to miss the launch.

“We are happy that Ngcebo is based in church as she is even accompanied by her spiritual parents.
