MBABANE – The first T55 SWAMA National Talent Search roadshow held at Ngwempisi Inkhundla on Friday was a success.

The people from the constituency were very welcoming and showed great interest in the talent search initiative.

Among the audience were the students of Ngcoseni Central High School, Malangeni Primary School and the general public.

The MC, Ntfombitanele Motsa from SBIS, brought so much excitement and enthusiasm to the crowd as she shared her laughter and popular phrase ‘Awumine’, which made her popular among the country’s radio listeners.

The crowd was welcomed by Hlobisile Skosana of Ludziwo Marketing and Business Consultants who addressed them about the whole concept.

Chief Mdlanga Gamedze spoke on behalf of the Manzini Regional Administrator and recommended that Swazi artists should get managers to assist them in branding.

SWAMA President Lutfo Dlamini addressed the people and revealed that the talent search competition will have 20 episodes shown on Swazi TV.

He mentioned that auditions will commence after the roadshow.

“I encourage the people of Ngwempisi to join the T55 SWAMA National Talent Search as I believe that one’s talent could be ‘a stream today and a river tomorrow’,” he said.

Also in attendance was the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture CEO, Stanley Dlamini, who sang praises of the performers of the day and encouraged them to try their luck in the competition.

“There is a need to acknowledge art legends like Mshikishi and Mkhulu Shongwe, who is choreographing the Sibhaca saka Shongwe that usually performs before His Majesty,” said Dlamini.

Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Mduduzi Dlamini appreciated the organisers and said the competition was aligned with His Majesty King Mswati III’s 2022 vision as it will make a huge difference in all the 55 Tinkundlas in Swaziland.

He encouraged entrepreneurship, especially among hawkers from the different areas to have their products on display as the T55 SWAMA National Talent Search team is still to go around the whole of Swaziland hosting roadshows and auditions.

Preserve

The CEO also stated that government fully supports the T55 SWAMA National Talent Search as this will preserve the Swazi youth and develop their artistic talents.
