MBABANE – ‘Konkhe Kuhamba Kahle’ (all is well) for Shongwe and Khuphuka as the group has been invited to perform in England.

The country’s leading group is expected to jet out of the country on June 28 and return home on July 24.
The group is expected to stage two performances in Birmingham and also visit a few churches there.

Inviting the group is a Zimbabwean born music promoter identified as Edward Dube who is now based in the United Kingdom.

Invitation

When the invitation first came, the organiser of the festival asked Reverend Elias Shongwe to come on his own with a backing track.
However, Shongwe insisted it would be proper that he comes with the whole group.
“I can confirm that Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group is expected to be in England towards the end of June.
“We will be performing in two shows and also visit some of the churches,” Shongwe said.

He said they will also be promoting their albums in some of the radio stations which they will visit while in UK.
Asked about the expenses Shongwe said all expenses will be paid for by the hosts.

“We have finalised everything with them. It is just the few logistics which include our arrival which we need to manage otherwise the deal is done.”
Shongwe said to them the invitation was a sign that even people abroad do listen to their music.

“This is just a sign that the local music industry is growing. The fact that a group like Shongwe and Khuphuka has been invited to perform in the UK it is a sign that there are opportunities abroad. We just need to make sure that we manage the relationships well.”
