Born in Matsapha, Ludzeludze in 1982, Nqobile Dlamini did not for a second imagine she would be an actress.
Now as she appears alongside seasoned actors and actresses in Muvhango, Isidingo and Rhythm City as a supporting actress, she realises nothing is impossible.
Jokes
She is well known in the local social circles as a fun loving and bubbly soul, who is forever cracking jokes.
“I am one person who loves to laugh and be surrounded by happiness, that is why I surround myself with positive friends, who through it all keep it moving,” says Nqobile.
It is this positive attitude that has seen her land roles in this popular South African soapies.

Family...
I come from an extended family; it is very huge I must say. My father has two wives, my mother being the second wife. I’m the only girl with two brothers from my mother and in all counting my half siblings we are a total of 10! I myself am also a mother as I have a daughter named Aviwe from my previous marriage.

Growing up...
I Went to St Michael’s Primary and High School then later on to the University of Swaziland where I did my Diploma in Law. I’ve never been that much into books though so I didn’t study anything further than the Diploma in Law.
Since my childhood days, I’ve always been known to be outgoing, sarcastic and kind with an amazing sense of humour, which are characteristics that draw people to me. Almost everybody is my friend, however, Lindokuhle Dlamini who happens to be songstress Nomzamo Zaza’s elder sister is my best friend. Although I have too many best friends, she’s the closest to my heart.

Career path ...
I started off as a call centre consultant at Swazi MTN in 2005. After working for Swazi MTN, I worked for Sun International as a Human Resources Officer and when I lost my job there it was then that I considered moving to South Africa leaving my daughter behind with my parents with the intention of starting a new life in South Africa  and be able to better provide for my family. Moving was very easy for me since my mother is South African, she arranged papers for me and I managed to settle this side. I was assisted by a very close friend of mine, Mimi Maseko, whom I also went to school with to get a job at Grounded Media where I’m currently working as a Projects Coordinator. My job exposes me to different kinds of people and  one special day I happened to meet with one lady named Leilani from posture models which is also an acting agency, who saw potential in me and placed me as an extra on Rhythm City in April this year.  I later on was called to feature on Isidingo and again on Rhythm city

Taking on the leading role ..
On November 4,  I received  a call from SABC  inviting me for Muvhango auditions. I was a bit sceptical to go as I felt I didn’t stand a chance to succeed as too many experienced actors would be present for the auditions and was actually surprised when I was given a role as Bhekikhaya’s daughter who is MaNkosi and Malume Themba’s brother that disappeared long ago and was found admitted in a Hospital in Swaziland. I must say meeting with the actors in person and having to work with them is really cool and I have learnt that they are all very friendly people like me.

Any future acting plans ...
Acting is a part time thing for me at the moment as my job is very demanding but if I happen to get a very big role that pays better than my current job I’m sure I will without hesitation go into acting full time, otherwise for now I’ll just do both.
