PRINCE SICALO HELPS MANZINI CHOIR RAISE E47 000

MBABANE – His Royal Highness Prince Sicalo is a life saver as he has helped Manzini Choir to raise a sum of E47 000 ahead of the Old Mutual Choral Music Festival finals scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday in Durban.

The choir needed at least E60 000 to attend the finals. The choir has been raising funds for the trip.
The prince attended the choir’s fund-raising concert with his business partners whom he motivated to contribute money to the choir.
Manzini Choir which has about 60 choristers is expected to leave the country next week Thursday returning home on Monday morning.

Helping

Apart from helping the choir raise the money, the prince contributed a sum of E12 000 through his company known as Labuya LeMaswati. He further promised to throw a party for the choir soon after the finals. During the party, the prince promised to slaughter a beast.
On top of that he promised to cater for the entertainment during the party should the choir perform well.

Confirming the gift from the prince was Khonelinkhosi Dlamini, Manzini Choir’s conductor during the festival who said they were amazed with the support they have received from the prince.

“We had invited him to our fund-raising concert and that is where he announced his pledge to the choir.
‘‘He had come with some of his business partners who also supported us and at the end of the day, we raised about E50 000 with the E47 000 from him and his partners.’’

Support

Dlamini thanked the prince for helping the choir saying the support they received will go a long way.
“We are almost ready for the finals and we are hoping that we will not return home empty handed. The competition is tight but we will try by all means to make sure that on the day of the finals, we are ready.”
