MBABANE – Eswatini’s biggest trade show, the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF), will make a return in 2023. After taking a three- year break due to COVID-19.

This was mentioned by the organisers of the event, the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), who are now taking applications from exhibitors from within Eswatini and abroad. Bongani Ntshangase, Head of Trade at EIPA, said they were pleased to be planning another EITF this year. He said EIPA’s mandates were to attract, promote, encourage, and facilitate local and foreign direct investment and trade in Eswatini for economic development.

Designed

“Hosting Eswatini’s biggest trade show forms part of the work we are doing to enhance the trade environment in the country. The event is designed to create business linkages between both the domestic and international communities and stimulate both local and foreign trade for the country. “With that said, we would like to encourage potential exhibitors to submit their applications to us for this year’s event. This will allow them access to over 40 000 visitors and clients over the 10-day period,” he mentioned. Ntshangase further mentioned to this publication that this year, the event would once again be hosted at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre between September 1 and 10, 2023. In previous years, the event featured over 300 exhibitors, boasting a plethora of activities related to business and social activities, including seminars, exhibitions, product demos, funfair games, music concerts, government services and sports tournaments, among many others.

Encourage

Ntshangase added that they encouraged businesses in any industry and of any size to apply to exhibit at this year’s EITF. He said one of the strengths of the event was how diverse the products and services on display were for visitors. “We would like to continue developing it, ultimately developing its function as a central platform for all business across the country. The international aspect will also allow us to demonstrate that our country is truly open for business, while encouraging export activity from Eswatini,” he added. The head of trade also mentioned that traders should be innovative in how they position their sales pitch to the public during the event. He said this approach would assist them in making the most of the EITF in developing their businesses.”

Exhibitors who are interested in booking space at the Eswatini International Trade Fair can now do so by downloading the application form at https://investeswatini.org.sz/eswatini-international-trade-fair-2023/.
