MBABANE – Sivavusi Investment has been enlisted as the best evaluated tenderer to be awarded the Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) tender.

This was revealed by the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA) on their website. The intention to award the company was published last week Friday and they are expected to begin executing it after a period of 10 working days, should they not be contested. According to the regulator, EWSC was looking for a company to rehabilitate the Mcolo - Ghobholo pipeline. The proposed contract price was E934 869.69. Worth noting, ESPPRA and the government have collaborated to introduce an electronic government procurement system as well as a directory for suppliers; both entities said this would be beneficiary for businesses and further promote efficiency. They also said they aimed at decreasing the number of procurement defaults and limit outsourcing of services.

Provision

This is in line with the provision and procurement of tenders in the public procurement regulations which states that transparency was key in the evaluation of tenders in public procurement.
EWSC was the procuring entity for the tender which was approved by the authority of the Board. ESPPRA requested the unsuccessful bidder to submit an application for review with the agency within 10 working days. “All tenderers who submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed for submission of any application for review,” said ESPPRA. The agency also mentioned that the tender does not constitute a contract.
