LOCALS MOURN POLICE GOSPEL MESSENGERS MEMBER

MBABANE – A soldier in the army of the Lord has fallen.

Gospel star Mduduzi Mbhamali , has died at age 44.

He was a member of the renowned gospel group known as Police Gospel Messengers.

His demise was confirmed by his brother Sabelo Mlambo in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.

He said his brother passed away on Monday evening.

Mlambo went on to express his heartfelt sadness and shared that Mbhamali died of COVID-19.

“On  behalf of the family it is with great sadness to announce the demise of my beloved  brother, he was more than a brother, he was a friend, father, an artist and a police man,” he said.

Shocked

In an interview with one of the members from the group, Zakhele Ginindza, he said they were shocked but they were still yet to visit the  Mbhamali family.

“We are still yet to go and see the family; maybe tomorrow we will be able to comment, but vele kwanyalo the group iseshacekile,” he said.

Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile   Vilakati also said they were yet to visit the Mbhamali family.

The Public Relations Officer of the Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA), Nhlanhla Mathunjwa, said the late Mbhamali was an influential member in the gospel music fraternity.

He went on to share that the arts sector had lost one of the best artists.

“The gospel fraternity has lost a good artist, who was not only an influential member but a person who was driven by passion. We would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family, his team and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

Abuzz

Social media was also abuzz as local artists and the public were uploading pictures of the late Mbhamali, sharing condolences.

The pictures uploaded stated that the artist was born in 1977 and passed on in 2021.

In an interview  with Tema Msimango, who is a gospel music lover,  she expressed her sadness and also conveyed her condolences to Mbhamali’s family and the Police Gospel Messengers.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is surely claiming the people we love the most. The group will never be the same without him; all the members complemented each other. We will forever miss you Mbhamali,” she said.

Mzwandile Msibi, a Facebook user, shared that he was still a fan of the Police Gospel Messengers, he mentioned the sensational group changed his life.

“The group started trending under the name of ‘Matsapha Gospel group’; I was still a young boy back then. The spiritual gifted group changed my life and made me realise my purpose in life. 

Demise

“I am just shattered by the sudden demise of one member. This was the perfect time for Mbhamali to heal the world through his gift,” he said.
