MBABANE – Pots construction continues to show its competitive edge by and abiding by the rules as stipulated in contracts.

The construction firm has most recently been awarded the tender to tar Mantenga Cultural and Mantenga Township Roads which is arguably the fastest developing town in Ezulwini. The tender for the roads construction was valued at E8.4 million.

Ezulwini Town Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vusi Matsebula explained that the roads construction was awarded to Pots Construction, after they emerged as the best evaluated tenderers.

Explained

He explained that in determination of the winning company, they took into account a number of requirements as stipulated in the invitation of bids, which included contractor’s capability, financial capacity, plant availability and human resource among others.
“We have worked together with Pots Construction in the past and they have proved to be competitive. So far we are impressed with the progress on both roads which are now 32 per cent complete,” said Matsebula.

The CEO explained that the roads construction programme was part of their strategies to improve the town’s road network, with intent to attract investment. He mentioned that they currently have 80 per cent tarred roads.
“We also want to improve the lives of residents through the provision of a quality road infrastructure,” added Matsebula.

Pots Construction Managing Director Sanele Mashwama said they were grateful for the opportunity afforded by the client to execute the projects.
He stated that they had always done their best to ensure that we offer quality service to the satisfaction of all their clients.

Mashwama disclosed that they were in the process of acquiring ISO 9001:2015 certification, as a means of improving and implementing an internationally recognised quality management system. “We have been inspired by bigger companies in the industry, such as Inyatsi Construction, who have attained most of these international standards. We look up to them as we aspire to walk in their footsteps in the development of the construction sector in the country,” said Mashwama.

Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings recently became the first construction company in Africa to obtain SACAS 45001 and 14001 ISO certifications.
The ISO 45001:2018 certificate means Inyatsi has been assessed and found to satisfy the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems certification while the ISO 14001:2015 certificate is for Environmental Management Systems. Both certificates, which were attained after 18 months of evaluation, are in respect of quality and safe civil engineering and concrete construction and associated work standards.

The company was officially presented with its certification by the South African and Audit Services Company.
SACAS is an assessment provider for all types of management systems and their processes as well as product, process and service certification provider.

It provides complete, reliable and high-quality auditing and certification services in respect of various standards.
Managing Director (MD) of SACAS Deon Du Toit commended Inyatsi for this achievement.
