MBABANE – The Eswatini Investments Promotions Authority (EIPA) has presented a business opportunity to lease two restaurants during the EITF.

The Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) will lease out the restaurants at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre for the duration of the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF).
The leasing out of the restaurants will be undertaken through bidding based on a reserved price set for the facilities. In the Request for Proposal (RFP), it was explained that contracted companies would provide meals from breakfast, lunch, dinners to EITF exhibitors, visitors, EITF management committee and support staff. The catering companies will also be granted rights to sell soft drinks.

“Contracted companies will also stand a chance to provide catering services during the official opening and official closing where light snacks and packed meals are provided for EITF invited guests and support staff. EITF undertakes to pay for such services,” reads the RFP in part. The trade fair is an annual event to be held from  31 August 31 to September 9, 2019.
It is a general exhibition that covers products and services of all genres, with participation from small to established businesses. It is open to both the private and public sector; however, more focus is on increased participation of the private sector, which is the main driver of the economy of Eswatini.

Showcase

The exhibition provides a platform for manufacturers, merchandise traders, investors, importers, exporters and trade management service providers in government, finance and business to showcase their products and services to key buyers and potential trading partners. Not only is the focus on local business people but it is also open to traders from other countries. Some of the participating countries come from SADC, COMESA and overseas. The fair is open to both the private and public sector, with the primary focus being in increased private sector participation as the main driver for economic development. Over the years, the fair has seen 100 per cent take up of exhibition space mainly by private enterprises. Some of the foreign participating countries come from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and overseas.
