DAN RE-APPOINTED AS CIC CHAIRMAN

 MBABANE – Construction industry expert Dan Dlamini has been re-appointed as chairperson of the Construction Industry Council (CIC).


Minister of Public Works and Transport Lindiwe Dlamini, made the appointments in exercise of powers vested in her by Section six of the CIC Act of 2014. She said the council, whose vice-chairperson is Nhlanhla Maphanga, would be deemed to have come into force on June 4, 2018.


Dlamini said the term of office for the eight-member council would be for a period not exceeding four years.
In legal notice number 143 of 2018, the minister said members of the council would be entitled to sitting allowances and travelling allowances which would be paid from funds of the council.


The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini enacted the CIC Act No. 14 of 2014, that provides for the establishment of the council and outlines its functions. 
The council is now operational and implementation of the provisions of the legislation is underway. 


All companies and persons involved in construction are required by law among other things, to be registered with the council.
The vision of the council is, to be the most competitive construction industry regulator in the region.


The mission of the council is, to regulate, develop and promote the construction industry for the benefit of all stakeholders through transformation for sustainable growth, monitoring industry performance, research and empowerment, thus improving the socio-economic status of the country.
