13 LOCAL COMPANIES FOR EDUCATION’S E24.9M TENDERS

MBABANE – Thirteen local companies stand to get a stake in  over E24.9 million tenders by the Ministry Education.


The tenders are for the printing, packaging and delivery of pupils’ exercise books and stationery packs for primary schools. The tender results have been published by the ministry’s Principal Secretary Dr Sibongile Mtshali on the Swaziland Public Procurement Agency’s website.


Results


The tender results show that the ministry intends to award eight companies for the printing, packaging and delivery of exercise books and stationery packs, and the other eight stand to be awarded for the packaging and the delivery of stationery to all primary schools.
The first tender is worth a combined E16 964 075.62 and the second tender is worth E8 231 190.29, bringing the total to E24 929 265.91.
Step Up Graphics Industries (Pty) Ltd stands to get the biggest stake worth E4 288 170.35 in the first tender while The Pelican Print Swaziland (Pty) Ltd stands to get the least amount E986 186.60 from the same tender.


In the second tender, Umbango Investments stands to get the bigger piece of the cake worth E2 100 944.44 and the smallest will go to Progress Stationery and is worth E476 645.95.
Noted
Dr Mtshali said it must be noted that, in terms of Section 45(2) of the Public Procurement Act No. 7 of 2011, the above contract award decision did not constitute a contract.
“Further, in terms of Section 45(4), 46, and 47 of the Act, all tenderers who submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed for submission of any application for review from the above stated date of first publication of this notice,” she said.


Meanwhile, 10 other companies missed out on the tenders for several reasons.
Companies
The companies are HM Stationery, KNGEE Investments (Pty) Ltd, Office Nurse (Pty) Ltd, Zaza Investments (Pty) Ltd, Babylon Investments (Pty) Ltd, J&D Agencies Wholesale (Pty) Ltd, , Apollo Printers (Pty) Ltd, Silubo Investments (Pty) Ltd, Swazi Textbooks and Stationery (Pty) Ltd, VJ Progress Printing and Publishing (Pty) Ltd and Apollo Printers (Pty) Ltd.
The reasons include that some of the companies were not compliant as there were no certificates of incorporation, tender forms were not completed properly and documents were not submitted in given order.
