EZULWINI – Standard Bank is ‘moving forward’ with taking banking to the workplace.

The bank has undertaken to offer customised banking services and financial wellness programmes to civil servants through a service called Employee Value Banking (EVB).

Head of Personal and Business Banking Charles Hlatshwayo explained that the core mandate of the programme would be value addition in banking services for all civil servants across the 20 government ministries. He explained that the programme had been a culmination of an acute need for financial wellness and management among government employees.

“We believe if we address the financial management of staff, productivity will also be improved. As a bank, we believe closing the financial management gap will help civil service to move forward,” said Hlatshwayo during the launch held at Royal Villas on Wednesday.

Hlatshwayo said their ultimate objective through EVB was to ensure that civil servants do not worry about their finances because they would have been adequately equipped with skills on how to manage their finances.

Ricky Holloway, the Head of Personal Banking and Channels, said the bank simplifies customer personal banking through customer centricity, digitisation and through being a universal financial services organisation.

He mentioned that they undertook to take banking to the people through provision of a basket of banking solutions at the workplace to reduce the stress of having to visit a bank in order to save time and help employees become more effective.
He stated that through EVB, civil servants would enjoy a wide range of services that would greatly improve their livelihood such as rural home loans with preferential rates and pricing together with specialist expertise.
