MBABANE – Stefanutti Stocks Construction has officially been awarded a contract worth E2.8 million by the Ezulwini Municipality.

The signing by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vusi Matsebula and Stefanutti Stocks for the five months contract for construction of Mkhaya Road from gravel to bitumen standard was done last week.

Matsebula yesterday announced that construction works would begin within the next 14 days. He reported that Stefanutti Stocks outsmarted Heptagon Company and Pots Construction to emerge as the best evaluated tenderer.

Highest

Heptagon Company had submitted the highest bid price of E3 111 109, while Pots Construction closely followed the eventual winner with a bid price of E3 029 714.

Roots Civils and Afrotim Construction were rejected from the tendering exercise. It was mentioned that Roots did not make the cut because their submitted plant and equipment did not meet the requirements.

Afrotim lost out on the business opportunity because they provided a bid security which was not in accordance with the bid requirements.

The tender results were issued in accordance with the Public Procurement Act of 2011, which stipulates that the company or enterprise granting the job should allow for a period of 10 working days for any application for review by all tenderers.

Most recently, Roots Civils was granted the tender for the upgrading of Mantenga Roads package B at the same municipality valued at E3.4 million.
