MBABANE – Mjingo High School Junior Achievers know how to achieve.

Artistic Scorpions from Mjingo High School could not successfully defend their Africa Company of the Year championship in this year’s competition but managed to scoop the third prize in the fierce competition presented by 13 other African countries that participated in the Junior Achievement programme.

The competition was held at Gold Reef City Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The students had produced wall clocks and used compact discs as their main raw material.
The idea was generated as a symbolism of time which was an opportunity to change the narrative of a girl child in Swaziland and the African continent at large.

The girls believed that having entrepreneurial opportunities at a very tender age positioned them at a better place to change their lives and the economy as opposed to falling into the norm of teenage pregnancy and other issues affecting a girl child.
Gabon emerged victorious in the competition as they managed to successfully present their auto-men chairs made through recycled bottles inserted inside, and covered with leather material.

These young people saw an opportunity to avert the issue of influx of waste bottles through using them as the core raw material in their production process.

Kenya emerged second place as they successfully presented their mobile application which allowed learners to purchase items online.
