MBABANE – The Swaziland Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (SWADE) will spend nearly E8 million to purchase motor vehicles and undertake a land and water survey.

Tender evaluation results issued by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Samson Sithole reflect that Mbabane Motors emerged victorious in the race to supply the enterprise with motor vehicles.
Leites Motors, Carson Auto and Motruck were all disqualified during the evaluation exercise where Mbabane Motors had submitted a bid of E5 858 676.

Survey

Towards undertaking the land and water survey, Sithole disclosed that MTK Consultancy, whose proposed contract price was E2.7 million, had been successful.
It should be mentioned that Sithole pointed out that the tender results were issued in accordance with the Public Procurement Act of 2011. He said all bidders would be allowed a 10-day period for submission of any application for review before granting the tenders.

Contract

“The contract award decision does not constitute a contract,” Sithole clarified.
The vision of SWADE is “To attain new opportunities in the service provision of sustainable socio-economic development in the region.” The entity has a mission “To empower communities to improve their quality of life through projects in commercial agriculture and other enterprises; providing innovative services in infrastructure development and management as well as expertise to public and private entities.”
