This message was relayed by Rexy’s Investments Auctioneer Melusi Qwabe during the houseware, electronics and furniture auction held at the Magistrates Court on Friday. Nearly 60 bidders crammed the bus rank to bid for various items at ridiculously low prices when compared to the market. A classical example of bargain prices of goods that went under the hammer was a bed that was in good condition that went under the hammer for only E250 from a reserve price of E200.  The retail price of a double bed is normally not less than E2000.  When asked the total amount of money generated at the auction, Qwabe said actual calculations had not been finalised by the time of going to print. Qwabe also mentioned joked that transport was being provided at a fee for bidders who did not have an idea how their purchased goods could reach their intended destinations. It should be mentioned that some of the items on sale including a 2012 Mercedes Benz ML 350 (163 000 kilometre mileage). Interested buyers can contact Qwabe on 76033360.
