Pastor Phetsa in divorce battle
MBABANE – Mbabane-based Pastor Phetsa Dlamini is embroiled in divorce proceedings with his wife of seven years after allegedly impregnating a widow from their church.
Nomsa Jele has filed for divorce against Dlamini whom she married in September 2003 alleging that he committed adultery and sired a child with a widow teaching in one of the schools in Mbabane. Dlamini is a marriage columnist titled ‘before you tie the knot’ in one of the local daily newspapers. Jele is represented by Mabila Attorneys in the matter pending before the Mbabane Magistrates Court.
It is a counter application to Dlamini’s where he also filed for divorce on grounds of alleged desertion. Jele also wants an order directing that Dlamini forfeits all benefits arising from their marriage in community of property, entered into on September 13, 2003 at Emafini. She alleged that no children were born of their marriage.
"Around April 2011 and to date, the plaintiff (Dlamini) has been involved in an adulterous affair, which he admitted to defendant, with one (name withheld), an adult widow whose full and further particulars are unknown to me, but is employed as a teacher, out of which a child was born in December 2011," Jele alleged.
In the initial application where Dlamini had filed for divorce, he conceded that he committed adultery, but claimed that Jele forgave him.
He alleged that the reason he had filed for divorce was that Jele had deserted their matrimonial home at Dalriach in Mbabane since January 2012. He claimed that Jele, when leaving their matrimonial home, with the purpose to end their marriage, took household items including a bed. He alleged that he was forced to sleep on the floor. Dlamini is represented by BS Dlamini and Associates. "The defendant (Jele) further deliberately withheld material information from the plaintiff prior to contracting the marriage. The information withheld by the defendant was that she could not conceive children as she had undergone surgery from a complicated previous pregnancy, which also had not been disclosed to the plaintiff prior to contracting the marriage," Dlamini alleged.
COMMENTS:
- I feel pity for the pastor, he was forced to sin. The woman was satanic , why did she conceal such important information in the first of all places. She was supposed to tell him before the marriage was solemnized. This was going to help the pastor to make an informed decision about going ahead with a childless marriage. He is human and he needs kids, this was just too much for him. Alikhulunywe liciniso ngepast life before kutsatfwane.
