MBABANE – Tibiyo Taka- Ngwane is said to have slaughtered 35 cattle to feed the thousands of people currently attending the three-day long People’s Parliament at Ludzidzini Royal Residence Cattle Byre.

This was said by a highly-placed source yesterday.

The insider said the institution had not purchased the cattle, but they were reared in some of the farms belonging to the company.

Kitchens

"Tibiyo owns a number of kitchens where they cook and prepare food for huge gatherings at the royal residence," stated the source.

"There’re no catering companies involved here, but the staff attached to the kitchens of the organisation," added the source.

At least 300 cases of slaughtered chickens, according to the insider, are cooked each day to form part of the menu.

Soft drinks are bought from a certain wholesaler in Manzini.

"The bill for the soft drinks for Monday and today (yesterday) stands around E17 000," added the source.

Acting Ludzidzini Governor Timothy Velabo Mtetwa, on Monday, confirmed that the thousands of people attending the People’s Parliament would be served with lunch.

Tent

Politicians, high-ranking government officials, security chiefs, princes, princesses and diplomats have their own tent on the premises of the royal residence where they have their lunch.

Efforts to get a comment from Musa Ndlela, the Public Affairs Manager, proved futile as his cellphone was off for the better part of yesterday.

One of the objectives of Tibiyo is to foster and support the maintenance of Swazi tradition and cultural heritage.
