Pupil (7) kidnapped by two women, man
MBABANE - A Grade II pupil of Valley Primary School at Ezulwini was on Friday allegedly kidnapped by two middle aged women.
The women were alleged to have been travelling with a man, the police said.
Tema Nonophile Dlamini (7) of Khula was playing with friends at Mvutshini Shopping Complex when the trio took her.
It is unknown where they took her to.
Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Stephen Dlamini said the girl was taken while with a group of children aged between three and four years old.
"She was wearing a lime dress and was barefooted.
"The girl is doing Grade II at Valley Primary School and was staying with her grandmother Delisile Ncamisile Mlotsa (47) of Mvutshini," he said.
I is alleged Tema and her friends were playing at a nearby homestead when one of them suggested that they should go and buy some sweets at the complex as her parents had given her mo- ney.
The police said it was upon arrival at the shop that the trio forcefully took the young girl and walked away with her.
The other children did not suspect that their friend was being kidnapped.
They only disclosed that she left with unknown people after they were asked of her whereabouts by her grandmother with their parents.
It is also suspected that the alleged kidnappers were travelling in a car as an alarm was immediately raised, but they were nowhere to be found. Tema was the eldest among her friends.
The police deputy spokes-person appealed to the suspects to handover the child to the nearest police station.
Dlamini said currently, police were following certain leads and they hoped to make arrests soon.
He also urged people who might have information to contact Lobamba Desk officer on 7604 8057 or 999.
Dlamini assured members of the public that all information forwarded to the police to help them in their investigations would be treated with confidentiality.
