MBABANE - Principal Sec-retary in the Ministry of Works Paul Nkambule’s meet-ing with Central Transport Administration (CTA) workers was almost boycotted on Wednesday.

Sources said Nkambule went to CTA at around 10am to address some of the grievances the government garage’s workers have.

This follows the protest action the workers undertook a fortnight ago.

However, the workers did not take kindly to the meeting.

They blamed management for failing to notify them on time about the meeting.

In an interview with Chairperson of the Shop Steward Committee of Mbabane CTA, Vusi Makhanya, he confirmed the confusion was caused by the lack of communication.

He said they finally agreed to attend the meeting after a short resista- nce.

In an interview with the PS, he confirmed attending the meet- ing.

When asked about the stand-off, the PS said he did not notice it.

He said there were quite a number of staff who attended the meeting.

Nkambule said he went to CTA to discuss schemes of service of the employees.

He said the standards will stipulate the qualification and other qualities expected from employees.

The PS said he had tasked the employees to work hand in hand with the MSD department which falls under the Ministry of Public Service.

Nkambule said he also addressed the workers on the transformation of the garage into a parastatal.
