EZULWINI – A civil servant’s wife who disappeared from home for a week has been found at a teacher’s house, at Gelekeceni.

Fezile Mkhabela, 28, disappeared from home last week with the family car.

Her husband Dumisa Nkomonye, 47, a civil servant working at the Ministry of Finance as an internal auditor, discovered his wife at the teacher’s house on Saturday morning after seeking the services of Private Investigator Hunter Shongwe.

Pretence

Mkhabela is said to have left her matrimonial home at Queens Gate in Mbabane on Saturday last week, under the pretence that she was going to buy something in town. The two are married by Swazi Law and Custom and have two children.

The wife was found inside the house after the investigators pounced on the teacher, who was on his way to town. The teacher, was led by community police to the house, where the woman was found relaxing inside. The wife was found locked inside the house and the car, a maroon RunX, was found parked outside the teacher’s house when the group of community police, private investigators from Huntsip and reporters arrived.

Shocked

Nkomonye, who was also present, was shocked when his wife of 10 years declared her undying love for the teacher, who was also present when the investigators arrived. Mkhabela openly stated that the teacher was her boyfriend and they had been dating for a long time.

When asked why she left home, she also openly declared that she was no longer comfortable staying with her husband. At one point in time during the interrogation by the private investigator, the wife cuddled the teacher in front of all those present.

The community police who were also inside the teacher’s house were quick to warn her to desist from doing that as she was a married woman. After Shongwe had finished asking questions from the teacher and the civil servant’s wife, he ordered them to go outside and apologise to the members of the public who were outside the house.

The teacher flatly refused, saying he would rather die than address the people who were outside.

Temper

After seeing that Shongwe (the private investigator) was losing his temper, the wife went outside to apologise to the members of the public who were seemingly baying for their blood outside.

During her address, she apologised to the landlady and the members of the community for coming to the area to commit adultery with the teacher.

The wife was later ordered to take all her belonging inside the house and, leave with her husband, they headed to Shongwe’s office which is situated at Mvutjini. The wife, however, made it clear that she did not want to board the same vehicle with her husband and Shongwe ordered them to travel in different cars.

And how will the situation continue "at home"? The man will beat the woman or worse? Yes, she committed adultry, so what? She is still a human being and has her rights to make decisions of her own in life. To husband, get divorce and marry someone your own age. Forgive, forget and move on!

She stole the husband from her blood sister with whom they had two kids. It serves Nkomonye right.

Hawu LIHLAZO lelingaka. Utsi itawuphela nje i AIDS nakunje!! This is not human but adultery which cannot be condoned. All these are fruit of the SIN that is dominating the world. I would like to invite both of them to consider giving their lives to Christ. He will forgive them.

We may not know all the details as to what caused this lady to 'run' away into the arms of another man. I cannot stand in judgement of her because that's God's job. But I hold the view that Hunter Shongwe together with the aggrieved husband, should not have made this a public spectacle. The rights to privacy of this woman have now been violated and if I were her, I'd sue the investigator for calling the whole community to embarrass her. I don't condone the woman's actions but that doesn't mean I should allow her rights to be trampled upon. Even if she stole someone else's husband, she still has certain rights as a human being. This is a private family matter and it should remain just that. By the way, I'd still buy the Times of Swaziland, as I always do without fail, even without the screaming and embarrassing headlines of adultery.
